About Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing which is very soothing. It is increasingly popular across the UK as more people look for gentle ways to support wellbeing through stress, overwhelm and life changes (including separation, job loss and menopause transitions).
Who this Reiki 1 day is for
Reiki Level 1 is suitable for complete beginners – and it truly doesn’t matter what your educational achievements are. One past student told me this was the first certificate and qualification they had ever achieved, and they did brilliantly.
Reiki 1 is about your healing gift. I often describe it like art: everyone can learn the basics, and with practice you naturally become more confident – and some people discover they have a real flair.
Students over the past decade have attended this Reiki 1 course from Warrington, Cheshire, Manchester and across the North West. The Reiki training is being held in Culcheth, Warrington which is easy to get to to if you are traveling by car from Manchester, St Helens, Bolton, Bury and Chorley. If you are using public transport just ask.
What you’ll learn on Reiki Level 1
This is a small, supportive group training day with clear teaching and plenty of guided practice. You’ll learn how to:
• Understand the history of Reiki and where it comes from
• Use Reiki for self-healing with a practical routine you can use at home
• Give Reiki to loved ones (family and friends) if you choose, with confidence and good boundaries
• Sense energy in a simple, natural way (no pressure to be “psychic”)
• Use grounding, intention, and basic energetic protection
• Receive four Reiki Level 1 attunements (traditional Reiki attunements given by a Reiki Master Teacher)
At the end of the training day you’ll receive your Reiki Level 1 qualification and certificate.

Your price includes: your full training day, an accompanying Reiki Level 1 brochure to take home, four Reiki attunements, certificate of your Reiki Level 1 qualification. Refreshments are provided – simply bring your lunch.
Location: It is being held in Culcheth, Warrington in my home and training room – with lots of windows for light and a garden if you tend to feel a little anxious. If you smoke, just let me know – you might be learning Reiki to help you cope more easily. . Reiki 1 is about your wellbeing.

Do I need any experience?
No – this is a beginners Reiki course and everything is taught step-by-step.
What if I feel anxious on the day?
That’s very common. A quick chat beforehand helps, and small adjustments (like sitting near a door or window) can make a big difference.
How Long To Wait After Reiki 1 to Learn Reiki 2 Reiki Level 1 qualification
After Level 1 you’ll be encouraged to practise at home for 21 days. Most students choose to wait around 1-3 months before moving on to Reiki Level 2. Reiki 2 it is where you learn about the sacred Reiki symbols and how they are used in amplifying the healing energy. Also how to use them to support mental and emotional healing, as well as healing from a distance.
One former Reiki 2 student learnt Reiki 1 in the 1960s. It was only just before Covid lockdown, that they had a compelling need to learn Reiki 2 with myself. I would simply advise, go with what feels right for you.
Do I Have to Do Reiki 1 to Become a Reiki Therapist
If you ever want Reiki to become a side income or a change of career, Reiki Level 1 is still your essential first step. It is about learning how to use the energy and to let go of some of your unwanted energy.
Reiki Level 2 is sometimes called the Practioner Level. After achieving your Reiki 2 qualification, you can then set up as a Reiki therapist. I have former students who I have taught Reiki Level 2 , who now have their own Reiki practices. Reiki Level 2 is a day course with myself.
