Fewer people continue through each stage of Reiki training to Master level, so reaching the point where you are considering becoming a Reiki Master is something to celebrate.
For some students, Reiki Master is the natural continuation of their spiritual journey or something they simply feel called to do. Others want to deepen their Reiki knowledge, teach Reiki to a loved one or perhaps teach Reiki professionally in the future. Whatever has brought you here, your reason for continuing your Reiki journey is personal to you.
I have been teaching Reiki here in Culcheth, Warrington, Cheshire, near Manchester, for over a decade and have taught Reiki students, Reiki therapists and Reiki Masters from across the North West. Students have travelled to Culcheth Healing from Warrington, St Helens, Wigan, Widnes, Manchester, Chorley and across the North West, with some travelling even further.
Not All Reiki Master Qualifications Are the Same
This is particularly important when choosing your Reiki Master training. Some Reiki Master qualifications do not also qualify you to teach Reiki. This can mean that if you decide in the future that you would like to teach Reiki and attune others, you may need to undertake separate Reiki Teacher training.
My Reiki Master training includes the Reiki Master Teacher qualification, giving you the option to teach Reiki in the future if you choose to. You don’t have to become a Reiki teacher. You don’t even have to work professionally as a Reiki therapist. For many students, becoming a Reiki Master is simply the next stage of their own personal and spiritual Reiki journey.
Your Reiki Master Qualification and Reiki Heritage
Before Reiki accreditations became more widely available, an important part of understanding someone’s Reiki training was their Reiki lineage.
A traditional Usui Reiki lineage shows the line of Reiki Masters and teachers through which the teaching and attunements have been passed, tracing that training back to Mikao Usui, the founder of the Usui system of Reiki in Japan.
Today, all my Reiki qualifications are accredited by IPHM. I am also an Usui-trained Reiki Master Teacher, with my own Reiki training lineage traceable back to Mikao Usui. Because of this, your Reiki Master certificate can also include the special words:
“Attunement and training in the Usui Natural Healing in accordance with the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition.”
For me, those words mean something special. Alongside gaining your accredited Reiki Master Teacher qualification, you become another link in the Reiki heritage that has been passed from teacher to student through generations.
What You are Guaranteed from Your Reiki Master Training
When you train with me, you are guaranteed:
- An IPHM-accredited Reiki Master Teacher qualification
- Usui Reiki training with a traceable Reiki lineage
- To be trained by an experienced Reiki Master Teacher who has been teaching Reiki for over a decade

The practical experience of your Reiki Master teacher matters. Books can give us knowledge, but they cannot give us years of experience working with real people. Having spent years both practising and teaching Reiki means I can answer many of the practical questions that arise during training and share the little tips, experiences and lessons that you don’t necessarily find in a training manual.
I am registered member of the UK Reiki Federation at Reiki Master teacher level. I currently put my Reiki training courses through the IPHM as this gives me more scope in teaching style and allows me to answer students’ questions that may extend beyond Reiki into other spiritual areas.

You Don’t Need a Perfect Life to Become a Reiki Master
Reiki Master doesn’t mean that you have mastered life. None of us has. We are all mastering life on a daily basis. Sometimes people wonder whether they are spiritual enough to become a Reiki Master. They look back at their younger years, mistakes they’ve made or times when they were perhaps a bit of a wild child and wonder whether that somehow makes them less suitable. It doesn’t. Even Phyllis Lei Furumoto, granddaughter of Hawayo Takata and an important figure in the continuation of the Reiki tradition, described herself as rebellious during her younger years before Reiki became such an important part of her life.
- You don’t need to arrive at Reiki Master training with a perfect past or a perfect life.
- You don’t have to be a professional Reiki therapist.
- You don’t have to become a Reiki teacher.
- You simply need to decide whether continuing your Reiki journey to Master level feels right for you.
Sometimes becoming a Reiki Master is about you; continuing something that has become an important part of your personal and spiritual journey. It’s about radiating a little more light and joy into your own world and allowing that to ripple out to the people around you. All I would say is: choose the Reiki Master Teacher who feels right for your journey.
