Why would you want to block your psychic development? Why could your psychic growth be stalling or going nowhere? I have taught many workshops on Angels, crystals, psychic development and how to see and feel auras. It is common for one or more students to arrive and express their frustration that their psychic and spiritual gifts are not developing the way they think they should.
Let me help you discover six ways you could be blocking your psychic development. Some may be obvious and others you may not have considered.
1 – You are Dictating How You Develop
If you insist on the way you develop it might be slowing down your progression. If you are not following your intuitive guidance because you are so “bloody minded” the spirit world and angels step aside and let you. You have free will.
Example 1: You have been attending the workshops and at first maybe noticed a difference. You could have met some lovely spiritual souls but, you are not developing as fast as your friend who you attend with – why? Firstly, is your friend choosing the workshops because they resonate with her. On psychic development sometimes there will be times when you are meant to part ways on your development and attend different training events or accept that you have different gift. Rather like, we all get a different prescription for glasses, a workshop will not develop everyone equally.
Example 2: You are determined to learn tarot. You have spent hours pouring over the books but their meanings do not seem to stick in your head. Your Grandad, your number one fan, who is now in heaven used to love a game of cards and was a keen gardener. He was also religious. He wants to help you develop but is not feeling the love with the tarot cards finding your choice of design a bit sinister. What about compromising, together you could enjoy angel cards or flower oracle cards. It could be that you don’t actually need tarot as your gifts are stronger at delivering messages in other ways such a scrying (using a crystal ball or bowl of water) or bibliomancy.
2 – Psychic Development Block Because You are Tired or Unwell
Energy is neither created or destroyed, it just changes form. Albert Einstein taught us that. The inhabitants of the spirit world vibrate at their individual frequencies. When you are tired, it is harder for you to access the “worthwhile” dimensions which are going to help and guide you. They are more likely to be encouraging you to rest rather than develop. Listen to your intuition on what do you need when you are tired – more development which can be energetically draining or more self care and nurturing. There is a time and a place for development.
My Experience: When I am ill, I cannot see auras. In fact, I know when I am on the mend and my health is recovering, as I start to see auras around my house plants. It makes me feel so happy to do so.
The body focuses on preserving the vital organs rather than hair, when someone is seriously ill. Similarly, it is not a time for pushing your development against your body’s protective wishes. Also, you are making yourself vulnerable energetically in the environment to lower energies.
3 – Psychic Development Blocks Due to Your Job
My Experience: I always remember two sisters who took an active interest in attending my workshops together on a regular basis. Then one day, in front of the whole group, one sister asked ” Why is my sister developing more than me?” The difference was becoming noticeable. The answer, she had a job which if she developed clairvoyance (spiritual sight) or clairaudience (spiritual hearing) beyond what she had, then it would make her job unpleasant or make her unable to carry on in her career.
Expert Tip: If you are a counsellor, police officer, social worker or any other role handling trauma, and maybe the outcomes of the worse acts in human nature, do you really want to see and hear everything? Yes, it might help you but you can’t pick and choose. It rather like me seeing Angels, I also see the energy coming up through the floor boards and the Angelic opposite. Do you really want to see the relatives in spirit of your clients or service users?. Do you really want to see graphic details of events or hear voices of unpleasant and unkind deceased souls?
You are being protected. Instead, what you might find is that your psychic development is your claircognizant (spiritual knowing) gets incredibly strong, your clairalience (spiritual smells) magnifies or your clairsentience increases (clear feeling). You are developing, but you are developing in a way where you can keep you safe, enjoy life and stay in your career making the world a better place. Psychic development shouldn’t be about creating trauma and turmoil in your world. It is to help you have a better and more easier life path.
4 – Blocks From Not Taking or Changing the Answers
This is quite a broad topic, so let me provide some common examples.
Messages Through Dreams: Getting dreams and not writing them down because they don’t make sense at that time. Make sure you write them down and the date.
Expert Tip: If your dream comes true, look back and note the time delay from the dream to it occurring.
Dreams tend to be just before you wake up, unless you constantly go to bed to late or have an alcohol induced sleeping, and then you tend to get a highly rememberable nightmare in the middle of the night.
My Experience: I went through a period when I was exceptionally busy seeing clients. Simultaneously, my young daughter was needing extra support in school and also Dad was seriously ill with terminal cancer. A lot going on. I was going to bed late, absolutely shattered falling straight to a deep sleep.
However, one night, in the early hours, I woke up with a horrendous dream. In my dream, I was looking out of my bedroom window the sky had gone black due to huge ships like on Star Trek with the USS Enterprise. Instead of Captain T. Kirk, they were being captained by Japanese in full unform. It was terrifying, I woke up thinking it was a premonition of world war three. I became ill a few weeks later. It was a warning to let me know, I was doing to much and to reduce my Reiki ( from Japan) healing appointments.
Expert Tip: Things do not have to make sense. It is rather like in a reading, if you see birds singing in your mind interpret what it means to you if reading for yourself. For a client, tell them client exactly what you have seen. When I told my client about the dawn chorus image, they replied saying that they used to sing in a choir and had been considering returning to their hobby. The message made crystal clear sense and was delivered accurately. It gave them the motivation they were looking for.
Expert Tip: The spirit world can be quite cryptic. A system of communication builds up over time between you and them. Write down what you see. If I get shown fence panels, I know the message about personal boundaries. Then it developed to the fence panels nearer to me missing or smaller, so I know that their personal boundaries have reduced with time.
If lots of washing clairvoyantly appears on my clothes line as I look out onto my garden, I know to ask the client if they are ok with everything being discussed, as the spirit world are prepared to air the client’s dirty washing. If I only see one item, I let them know the spirit world are asking permission to talk about their personal business otherwise they will limit what they say – it tends to be people with relatives in spirit who are discreet. If I see an image of the ace of diamonds in my mind I know it about finances.
5- Blocks During Grief and Trauma
When you are in a not so great life place it is easy to want to accept any answer. When someone is in bereavement, suddenly they crave connection to those in heaven and often will start wanting to psychically develop whereas previously they may have had no interest in it.
My Experience: When my Dad died, I had people in the spirit world pretending to be my Dad. I have clairaudience, I can hear my Dad like he is in the room having a chat with me. Not slow and laborious, a normal conversation. A telepathic conversation, which is how the spirit world communicate.
We get bored spirits walking amongst us. After my Dad died, naturally I had days I felt low and down, missing him greatly. I would have lower vibrational spirits pretending to be my Dad. I would ask them “What’s your middle name?” and when they couldn’t answer I would get an abusive verbal reply.
Expert Tip: If your spiritual gift is feelings (clairsentient), which as a psychic healer I get, bored spirits can send the feelings of love, so you can get confused believing it’s the person who has recently department. It happened to me, these bored spirits can raise their game by grouping together to send the feeling of love. They often don’t have enough feelings of love within them to send it individually. But, even together they can’t keep it up for long – one or two minutes. So don’t start opening up and pulling out the cards or intuitive writing etc until you wait to see if lasts a bit longer.
Expert Tip: If unsure or you feel uneasy ask “Are you of the light?” three times. They will go usually before you have asked the third time.
6 – Psychic Gifts Come and Go
What isn’t really talked about is psychic gifts coming and going, ebbing and flowing.
My Healing Experience: When I first started developing my healing gift, under the guidance of a spiritual healer, my main healing guide appeared. A huge Japanese sumo wrestler, who wanted me to bend people backwards, stamp their feet to help release the old stagnant energy and other strenuous methods. However, I have hardly any upper arm strength and at the time was very slender in build. I proceeded to carry on with a normal job and life seeing him when I healed loved ones.
When I started my Reiki healing business, he appeared constantly at the beginning. But his energy was so strong the therapy bed would shake, which was unnerving for clients. Also, at that time, I wasn’t certified in massage or reflexology. As I wasn’t using him, other healing guides came forward, a surgeon if there was energetic repair work to be done after an operation, an Indian lady who blesses clients and showers spiritual rose petals over them. She cleans the energy lines from their heart chakra and around them, turns mini chakras in their aura with the outcome their energy shines more vibrantly.
People assume that main guides just stay there doing nothing, waiting for you to use them. I fully believe that my Japanese Sumo Wrestler is working with other healers. Now and again I see him, but mainly with clients experienced in spiritual healing.
My Psychic Experiences: I also went through a phase of seeing spirit animal guides around people, and getting them delivering messages. I remember running a coffee morning to bring together clients and instead I got compelled to teach a Spirit Animal Guide workshop free within it. The spirit animal phase has quietened to not such dominant and intrusive levels.
Another psychic development phase was when my daughter was a toddler. I would see trees talking to each other via balls of light as I looked out of the lounge window, whilst giving her a bottle of milk. The trees in the garden also sent healing to me when I was ill in bed, via their root system. I could see lots of balls of light surrounding me and was shown the tree roots and the healing love from the trees to thank me for the way I tendered to them and the other plants in the garden.
As my daughter became older I was shown a doorway in a tree on a walk in a local woodland. Another time, the tree in my garden showed me its chakras. I see plants in my therapy room sending healing energy to clients, projecting it up to three metres to reach them and to cover them.
Summary
Some psychic gifts are “full on” for a period of time and then disappear and return when needed again. Others are one off moments. I am still waiting to see another door in a tree, chakras in a tree or tree roots sending me healing. You get what is right for you at that moment in your life. What will help you and others.
Psychically developing at the pace the spirit world and Angels want for you, is in my belief, far safer for you energeticaly. They want what is best for you in this life and the development of your soul. I have seen people quite sick who went against their intuition and guidance in the pursuit of an ego led psychic gift. There are many rooms in the mind and many energy levels out there, it is about opening the right doors and accessing the right vibrational spaces.
